This Week’s BB&T Chevrolet at Bristol Motor Speedway … Clint Bowyer will pilot Chassis No. 057 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Nationwide Series stable. This is the same BB&T Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Bowyer raced to an eighth-place finish last month at Gateway International Raceway outside St. Louis. Built new in 2006, Bowyer drove this car twice that year, at Kentucky (St. 21, Fn. 12) and Michigan (St. 39, Fn. 12). Last season, the six-time winner in NASCAR’s No. 2 division raced this BB&T Chevy at Kansas (St. 23, Fn. 4) and again at Charlotte last fall (St. 16., Fn. 8).

Back on Board with BB&T … After showcasing a Camping World paint scheme last weekend at Michigan International Speedway, Bowyer’s No. 2 Chevy will return to its traditional burgundy and gold BB&T colors for the Food City 250. Bowyer Spun Out of Potential Strong Finish at The Glen

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y. – Clint Bowyer was two-thirds of the way into the Zippo 200 when heavy contact from another driver in turn one spun out the No. 2 BB&T Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS and any chance of what was shaping up to be a strong finish at Watkins Glen International.

Bowyer and Company maintain the NASCAR Nationwide Series points lead with the difference between themselves and Brad Keselowski, in his second stint in the second spot, at 128 points. BB&T Team Back in Top-10 Form in Montreal Rain

MONTREAL – Other than on a videogame screen, Clint Bowyer had never seen Circuit Gilles Villeneuve before Saturday’s NAPA Auto Parts 200 but he still came away with a ninth-place finish despite the inexperience and running in the rain.

Bowyer is now 168 points ahead of Carl Edwards, who moved into second place ahead of Brad Keselowski (184 back) with 12 races remaining on the 35-race NASCAR Nationwide Series schedule. David Reutimann is fourth (-319) and David Ragan is fifth (-345). Read More!

INDIANAPOLIS -- The 11-race streak of top-10 finishes that Clint Bowyer and the No. 2 Camping World Racing team earned over the past three months came to an end Saturday night at O’Reilly Raceway Park but the 18th-place finish was still good enough to increase their lead in the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings.

Bowyer & Co. are now 173 points ahead of second-place Brad Keselowski with 13 races remaining on the 35-race schedule. Carl Edwards is third (-180), David Reutimann is fourth (-290) and David Ragan is fifth (-331). Read More!

MADISON, Ill. -- The No. 2 BB&T Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS was plagued by handling woes over the last part of the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 but Clint Bowyer was still able to hang on for an eighth-place finish late Saturday night at Gateway International Raceway in Madison, Ill.

The top-10 finish at the suburban St. Louis speedway, just across the Mississippi River, was the team’s 11th consecutive top-10 finish, and 18th overall, in 21 races this season. Bowyer now leads the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings by 170 over second-place Brad Keselowski, 201 over Carl Edwards, 266 over David Reutimann and 360 over David Ragan. Read More!

Bowyer, Camping World Chevy Stay Strong in Chicagoland

JOLIET, Ill. – Clint Bowyer and the Camping World Racing team continued their recent run of strong finishes with another top-10 showing Friday night at Chicagoland Speedway.

The seventh-place effort was Bowyer and Company’s 10th consecutive top-10 finish and 17th overall this season. Despite the strong showing, Bowyer, the NASCAR Nationwide Series point leader, lost 19 points to second-place Brad Keselowski after the rookie driver finished third behind Denny Hamlin and eventual winner Kyle Busch. Since then, the car has been completely rebuilt and outfitted with all the NASCAR-mandated 2008 updates.

* It’s Hard Argue with the Numbers … In four Nationwide Series starts at Chicagoland Speedway, Bowyer has one top five, three top 10s and only finished outside the top seven once. Bowyer, BB&T Racing Team Notch Top-Five at Daytona

Daytona Beach, Fla. – Clint Bowyer and the BB&T Racing team turned in a solid fourth-place performance in Friday night’s Winn Dixie 250 Powered by Coca-Cola at Daytona International Speedway.

The strong performance was Bowyer’s eighth top-five finish and ninth consecutive top 10 in 19 races this season. At the same time, the six-time NASCAR Nationwide Series winner increased his point lead to 202 markers ahead of second-place Brad Keselowski. Carl Edwards sits in third, 218 points behind Bowyer, David Reutimann is fourth, 226 back and David Ragan is fifth, 325 out of the top spot. Read More!

Camping World Team and Bowyer Settle for Top-10 Finish -

LOUDON, N.H. – Clint Bowyer paced the field for the majority of the first 50 laps and was third going into his final pit stop but the call for four tires didn’t pan out and the No. 2 Camping World Racing team had to settle for a ninth-place finish in the Camping World RV Sales 200 presented by RVs.com at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

It was yet another top-10 finish for the team, the 15th in the first 18 races of the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. Bowyer’s lead in the point standings over second-place David Reutimann is now 182, 188 over third-place Carl Edwards, 197 points ahead of Brad Keselowski in fourth and 298 in front of David Ragan in fifth. This Week’s Camping World Chevrolet at New Hampshire Motor Speedway … Clint Bowyer will 0802HH7719W.jpg (176320 bytes) pilot Chassis No. 069 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Nationwide Series stable. Built new last season, this is the same Camping World Chevy Bowyer drove to Victory Lane last spring at Phoenix International Raceway and Richmond International Raceway. Additionally, the Emporia, Kan., native raced this car last July at New Hampshire Motor Speedway (St. 3 – Fn. 6). The same car also saw action in September at Richmond (St. 11 – Fn. 33) and again in November at Phoenix (St. 1 – Fn. 3). Most recently, Bowyer raced this car to an eighth-place finish in April at Phoenix and to a ninth-place finish in May at Richmond. Nudge Aside, Bowyer BB&T Chevy Finish 
Third in Milwaukee

Race/Date: Camping World RV Rental 250 – June 21, 2008 - Location: The Milwaukee Mile – West Allis, Wis. - Start Position: Sixth - Finish Position: Third - 
Points Position: First – maintained position and increased point lead

WEST ALLIS, Wis. – With less than 25 laps left in Saturday night’s Camping World RV Rental 250, Clint Bowyer was showing the way and in position to capture his second NASCAR Nationwide Series checkered flag of 2008. But, as the he drove through the apex of turns one and two, contact from eventual winner Carl Edwards shot Bowyer up the race track costing him what looked to be an all but assured trip to Victory Lane at the historic Milwaukee Mile.

While the loss proved to be a bitter pill to swallow for the six-time winner on NASCAR’s junior tour, Bowyer still finished third and increased his point lead to 188 markers over second-place Brad Keselowski. Read More!

Bowyer Extends Points Lead with Another Top-10 Finish

Points Position: First – Extended Points Lead

SPARTA, Ky. – Despite an ill-handling race car and no time on the Kentucky Speedway racing surface until qualifying, Clint Bowyer and the No. 2 Camping World racing team were able to secure a ninth-place finish in Saturday night’s Meijer 300 presented by Dollar General.

The top-10 finish was the team’s 13th in the first 16 races of the 2008 NASCAR Nationwide Series season. Bowyer is now 170 points ahead of second-place Brad Keselowski, 175 ahead of David Reutimann in third, 225 forward of Carl Edwards in fourth and 243 points ahead of Kyle Busch in fifth. Read More!

Bowyer Bumped on Final Lap from Fifth 
Runner-Up Finish at Nashville

Race/Date: Federated Auto Parts 300 presented by Dollar General – June 7, 2008 - Location: Nashville Superspeedway – Lebanon, Tenn. - Start Position: Fourth - Finish Position: Fourth - Points Position: First – Extended Points Lead

LEBANON, Tenn. – With a fifth consecutive runner-up finish at Nashville Superspeedway in sight, Clint Bowyer and the No. 2 BB&T Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS ultimately had to settle for fourth after taking a shot in the back bumper by a competitor in the third turn of the final lap of the Federated Auto Parts 300.

Despite losing two spots in the final rundown, the Emporia, Kan., native is now 166 points ahead of David Reutimann, who moved up two positions into second. Kyle Busch dropped one position, to third, now 188 points back, Carl Edwards is fourth, 190 points down, and Brad Keselowski is fifth, 192 points in arrears.

The No. 2 BB&T Chevy was the fifth car to attempt a qualifying run on the 1.33-mile D-shaped oval. His run of 30.167 seconds (159.074 mph) was 0.164 of a second off the pole speed but good enough for the fourth starting slot. Read More!

Built new for 2008, this is the same No. 2 Chevrolet Bowyer raced to a second-place finish earlier this year in the Nationwide Series’ last trip to Nashville. Bowyer also raced this car to a third-place finish in Las Vegas and a runner-up effort last month at Darlington. In three starts this season, this BB&T Chevy has recorded a pair of second-place showings to go along with a third-place finish. * In the Loop at Nashville …

o In a Nutshell … In eight starts at Nashville Superspeedway, Bowyer has an impressive 5.8 starting average and an even more impressive 2.7 finishing average. The Emporia, Kan., driver has one win, four consecutive runner-up efforts, and a third-, fourth- and fifth-place finishes. Over that same span, he has completed all 1,800 laps contested and has yet to finish worse than fifth. BB&T Team Click Off Another Top-10 Finish

Race/Date: Heluva Good! 200 – May 31, 2008 - Location: Dover (Del.) International Speedway - Start Position: 21st - Finish Position: Ninth
Points Position: First – maintained position and increased point lead

DOVER, Del. – The BB&T Racing team overcame a mid-pack qualifying effort and battled handling issues throughout the Heluva Good! 200 at Dover International Speedway but Clint Bowyer & Co. were still able to bring home a ninth-place finish from the “Monster Mile.”

The top-10 showing was the team’s 11th such effort in the season’s first 14 races. Bowyer’s lead in the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings is now 121 over second-place Kyle Busch and 144 over third-place Carl Edwards. Read More!

* This Week’s BB&T Chevrolet at Dover International Speedway … Clint Bowyer will pilot Chassis No. 063 from the Richard Childress Racing NASCAR Nationwide Series stable. This is the same BB&T Chevy Monte Carlo SS Bowyer drove to victory in the rain-shortened Sharpie Mini 300 at Bristol Motor Speedway. Prior to that, Bowyer drove this car to a ninth-place finish in the 2007 season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. 

* Dover Details … Bowyer has taken a one-year sabbatical from Nationwide Series competition at Dover, having not competed in NASCAR’s junior division at DIS since September 2006. In four starts at the track formerly known as Dover Downs, Bowyer has one win and three top-five finishes. He boasts a strong 6.8 starting average and an even better 6.5 finishing average. BOWYER BB&T CHEVY, BRING HOME A SOLID TOP-SIX FINISH AT CHARLOTTE

Race/Date: CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 – May 24, 2008 - Location: Lowe’s Motor Speedway – Concord, N.C. - Start Position: 15th - Finish Position: Sixth

CONCORD, N.C. – Clint Bowyer and the No. 2 BB&T Chevrolet team may not have had the car to win the CARQUEST Auto Parts 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway but a strong sixth-place showing allowed him to maintain the lead in the NASCAR Nationwide Series point standings.

The sixth-place effort was Bowyer and company’s 10th top-10 performance of the 2008 season.

In qualifying Saturday afternoon, the NASCAR Nationwide Series veteran toured the Charlotte oval in 30.629 seconds (176.223 mph), locking in the 15th starting spot for the 200-lap event.

Bowyer and company took the green flag just after 7:30 p.m. local time under clear skies. The first of the day’s 12 cautions came out on the third lap for an incident in turn two with Bowyer having gained three spots. Green-flag racing resumed on lap eight and the No. 2 BB&T Chevy maintained position with Bowyer calling over the radio that the car’s handling was too tight exiting the turns.

The second caution flag flew on lap 26 and the Bowyer ducked down pit lane for service by his Dan Deeringhoff-led crew. Fresh Goodyear rubber, fuel and a chassis adjustment were in order and the 28-year-old driver was 12th on the lap-30 restart. Read More!

BOWYER FLOURISHES AS OTHERS FAULTER

DARLINGTON, S.C. – Clint Bowyer, driver of the No. 2 BB&T Chevy Monte Carlo SS, turned in a solid second-place finish in Friday night’s Diamond Hill Plywood 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at historic Darlington Raceway.

At the same time, Bowyer extended his points lead after his closest two competitors, Carl Edwards and Kyle Busch, fell out of the race in separate incidents proving the newly-repaved 1.366-mile race track is still “Too Tough Too Tame.” Read More!

BRISTOL, Tenn. -- The winning move for Clint Bowyer in Saturday's Sharpie Mini 300 Nationwide Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway was simply staying on the track when the rain started.

Bowyer and the eight cars behind him in the final running order remained on the track when NASCAR called the seventh caution of the race on Lap 164, after a light sprinkle turned to heavy rain. After seven more laps under caution, Bowyer waited out a stoppage of approximately 47 minutes before NASCAR called the race and declared him the winner. Read More!
